Background

Before he parachuted from the back of the low-flying passenger jet into a dark and stormy night, and history, over Southwest Washington with $200,000 strapped to his body, D. B. Cooper was alone in the economy section. The only person he talked with was Tina Mucklow, a flight attendant aboard Northwest Orient flight 305. Mucklow was twenty-something. Cooper was a middle-aged man with a bomb in a briefcase. We speculate about one of the many mysteries still lingering around the only unsolved case of air piracy in American aviation history. What did they talk about?

Significance

Cooper hijacked a passenger jet airliner Thanksgiving eve, 1971 and parachuted from the airliner over Southwest Washington with $200,000 in cash. Cooper's hijacking is the only unsolved air piracy case in America. His exploit is celebrated in movies, television, song, and now, radio.
